The Best Hair Products For Frizzy Hair!

Estimated Read Time: 4 minutes

Summary: In this blog, we learn what the best products are that you can use to tame dry, frizzy hair...

Something we can all agree on is that dry and frizzy hair is not the one! But what products are out there that can help us tame our tresses and get that shiny, sleek and smooth look we all aspire to have…?

Sulphate-Free Shampoo

It’s not really a secret anymore that sulphates are no friend to your hair. Sulphates are strong detergents, simply added to hair products like shampoo to give a more dramatic lathering effect.

Sulphates are actually really aggressive and strip the hair of natural oils that are essential for moisture retention. This then messes with your hair cuticle and results in frizz.

Turn to sulphate-free product lines, like all of Cel’s Hair Care Range, particularly with your frequent products like shampoo and conditioner. Cel’s Microstem Shampoo and Conditioner are both sulphate-free, paraben-free, cruelty-free, hypoallergenic and suitable for all hair types (including chemically treated and colour-treated hair!) so you can shop and wash your frizzy hair in confidence.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil dominates the beauty industry as the miracle cure-all and can work wonders for frizzy hair.

Just massage it into your scalp and cover your hair strands from root to tip. Keep the hair wrapped in a towel for a minimum of 15 minutes, or leave in your DIY hair mask as you sleep overnight for an even deeper condition. Then, wash the hair with a gentle sulphate and paraben-free shampoo and conditioner.

If you’re looking to fight off frizz quickly without having to wash it out, simply pop a pea-sized amount of coconut oil onto your hands, rub them together, then smooth down over any flyaways before going about your day!

Serum

Frizz is always likely to turn up after the hair’s been washed and dried… Typical, right? You need to ham up that hydration with a serum like Cel’s vegan, hypoallergenic Re:Gen Repair Serum.

By locking-in hydration, this super serum supports your hair’s structure and enriches your tresses from root to tip. Hydrating the hair keeps it protected against harmful stressors, revealing smoother, frizz-free and healthier looking hair.

Powered by moisturising and restoring ingredients, such as Hydrolysed Proteins and Ginseng Stem Cells, our serum’s formula also helps to rebuild damaged hair structures by replacing lost proteins and colloids. Repairing these damaged areas can result in more durable, smoother, and shinier hair.

Further Tips On Fighting Frizzy Hair

Turn Down The Heat: If your heat styling tools are on a setting higher than 185 °C, you’re at risk of causing your hair cuticle to swell which will do damage and cause frizz. A safe range is anything between 120-150 degrees °C. You simply have to have patience and hold the tool for longer when looking to style a sleeker, smoother look.

Let Your Hair Dry Naturally: If you can, let your hair dry naturally at least 90% of the way to help avoid disrupting the wet and vulnerable hair strand, and thus support it in staying smooth. When blow drying, keep the drier on a low heat and let the hair partially dry as much as possible before hand. Towel dry? It’s time to upgrade to a microfibre towel. A normal bath towel is abrasive and rough, which can literally cause your hair to break and frizz. Be kinder to your hair with microfibre, or even an old t-shirt if you prefer to dry your hair with material!

Sleep On Silk: Invest in a silk pillowcase, as this really helps protect the hair better than cotton whilst you sleep. Silk maintains your natural hair oils, which is especially important if you do battle with frizz!

In addition, upgrade your hair scrunchies to silk too! This will
combat any excess friction for optimum breakage prevention, and smoother hair.

Final thoughts on the best hair products for frizzy hair...

The only way to completely fix broken, damaged and completely unhealthy hair is by cutting it. However, if you want to stop the damage happening again, make sure you read our blog on How To: Reduce, Negate and Prevent Hair Breakage.
